Fuel pump grinding noise, occasional CEL, car jerks from 1k - 2k rpm
Good day all
I have a d series ek3 hatch, it has a D15z4 head and ZC (1.6) block. Originally the car was obd2 I rewrite it to obd1 to run a chipped ECU. I had a P06 chipped running a D15b7 base map and the car ran great it idled good and had good power. Then the ECU just stop work leaving me stranded at work and I had to get it towed home. The P06 had blown the STA413a chip it was clearly blown. I took it to a professional and he replaced the chip and replaced all the capacitors but it never worked. Just got no fuel prime so the ECU was dead.
Soo I brought a P08 JDM square type ECU and chipped it and I'm running D16a6 base map with vtec disable. I had a problem where the car would not go pass 4k rpm but I solved it, had a washer blocking the fuel damper nut and the car wasn't getting fuel. After I had fixed that I wired up and IACV on the intake for AC. But I never got the AC to work there were a lot of leaks so I just didn't bother but I left the IACV.
The cars runs great but lately i have been getting a grinding fuel pump noise only when i turn the key to prime but when i start the car the fuel pump sounds normal, car idles good from cold but when its warmed up it sound like a misfire off and on randomly, when im driving the car jerks as if you release the clutch quickly (like im now learning manual) if i am cruising in traffic, i have to push in the clutch to stop it and i also hear a clicking noise in the engine bay when it happens and as of recently im getting a CEL if im cruising on the highway and keep it at 2k rpm for long. I cant read the CEL because it goes away when i turn off the car.
Long story short i wanna know if the fuel pump grind is normal and from the issues i am having could it possibly be bad fuel injectors or clogged fuel filter. I forgot to mention above i have a Walbro 255 fuel pump. The car drives great besides these issues.
What i have done to solve these problems :
New NGK plug wires + plugs
Checked timing its at 16 degrees
New Fuel pump just to test and ended up leaving it in which have certainly gone bad within a few months so i have put back my walbro 255

ok so i did some investigating and the fuel pump grind is not the fuel pump it a burbling noise coming from inside the engine bay where the fuel line going to the fuel filter is. What could that be , AIR ?
