Hello team,

I own a Civic FK3 from 2009.

Some weeks I got hit by a red light crosser on the right rear side.

During the incident, the curtain and front seat airbag deployed, although I was alone in the car.

Since the insurance company is bankrupt, I need to fix it on my own, it will take 2 years to recover the money for my damage.

I already changed the rear suspension and the rear door. Most of the parts I got them from scrap yard.

Do you know if I change the seat airbag and curtain, if I need to replace the airbag module (control unit) and also do I need to replace the crash sensor located on the middle pilar?

I am also wondering if I need to register the new airbags into the system.

Before the crash I never had any airbag or SRS check light on the dash, though I was never able to connect to the airbags module using HDS.

Wow that's some ****.

You can have the SRS unit reset by a company that specializes in that. Not horribly expensive.

You will need a new impact sensor and new air bags. Not sure if the FN has seat belt tensioners, it probably does. That will also need replacement.

 

Awesome. I will actually buy an airbag unit as it is hard to find someone good and serious in Eastern Europe for such task.
