Icon4 Main Relay Short circuit

Hello everyone, I recently bought a Civic EG (1993). The car started having difficulties starting, and eventually stopped altogether. I replaced the fuel pump and fuel filter since I noticed there was no sound from the pump when the ignition was turned on. Later, I removed the Main Relay and noticed that the previous owner had placed it on the floor where it was exposed to water and moisture. Upon opening it, I found it to be rusty and corroded. I purchased a new Main Relay, and when turning the key, the fuel pump started working, but the starter stopped functioning, and the Main Relay made sounds of a short circuit. Currently, I have a weak and discharged battery, and I won't be able to charge it anytime soon. Could this be related to the short circuit issue? I apologize in advance as my English language skills are not very strong.

Doesnt sound like a short circuit to me. Sounds like a dead battery.

The main relay has nothing to do with the starting circuit. The key cylinder literally passes power right to the starter solenoid activating the starter.

1000% normal for a dead battery.

The relay is activating very quickly because the voltage has dropped too close to its activation threshold. Not enough power to hold the relay closed. Relay is fine. Charge your battery or jump it

Hello, today I went to the nearest service and asked to charge the battery. When it was charged, I returned, placed it in the car at home, got behind the wheel, inserted the key into the ignition. And here comes the moment of truth... Ignition, all the lights came on, I turned the key, and then a click, everything went dark. I tried again, but there was no response. I opened the hood, tapped on the battery terminals, feeling disappointed, got back into the car, tried to start it, and there it was... IT STARTED, it came to life! Thank you so much for your help!

It sounds like your connections at the battery may be loose, or otherwise ineffective.
Please make sure your terminal clamps are in good shape and maybe have your battery tested.
