Misfiring
Hi i have a 97 ek1, i’ve been to a few mechanics and a lot of mechanics keep telling me different things, every time im at low rpm my car is misfiring till i get to like 3k rpm than it just kicks in only does it when i drive and it don’t misfire when on idle i’ve check coils and spark plug they are good they getting sparks
i have been told to change my dizzy cap and spark lines, i’ve also been told my timing been out of time and skipped dew teeth

Personally I would inspect/adjust ignition timing, check timing belt timing, and inspect/adjust valve lash. I would also do a compression and leak-down test. But I have the tools to do those myself. Not sure what I would do if I had to pay someone to test/adjust all those things. Maybe start with the cheapest items and go from there.
Any mechanic should be able to do ignition-timing compression and leak-down pretty easily on an upright 4-cyl.
Timing-belt check and valve-lash would be done together on a separate job. Have to remove the valve cover so a new gasket & grommet set is required on top of tools.

...and yes if you've never had them replaced, consider it a good time to get new spark plugs, plug-wires, distributor cap and distributor rotor.
Not sure what your budget is. If you can't afford it, then those items can be inspected and re-used if good.
