need some advice here. car is dead, thinking of part out?
01 ex vtec. bought it with a bad head gasket for cheap. drove until it didnt and rebuilt it. rebuild kit, machine shop. spent about 400 bucks and time. it drove fine, a few long trips, then it jumped timing. to save a buck i didnt replace timing belt. so now i did, it ran fine for a couple days after that before it felt like it was down a cylinder.
my cylinder 2 is low compression (65) and crank case pressure is up - so blow by. i do not want to pull this engine again, its winter and i feel like im just done.
so - go through the trouble of replacing the rings?
junk the car for scrap value?
or part it out?
what would you guys do?
