I swapped in an EX trans into my car for different gearing ratio. Everything works and it drives great but my shifter is lopsided. Does anyone know why this is?

Take a picture of the shifter end from the bottom to illustrate how the shifter/shift rods are assembled and post it.

 

You've either got something bent or assembled incorrectly on your aftermarket shifter.

 

finally got some time to get my car in the air, sorry for the lateness.

short shifter didn’t affect my last transmission so it shouldn’t affect this one.
