Worth of a d16zc/s80 swap
Really just throwing this out there to see the Information available. Not looking for the dipsh*ts that state the obvious. I have a 95 ej1 coupe d16z6 auto (full bone stock except for wheels) 213k+.
My crazy idea is wondering if trying to match a jdmd16zc with a s80('98) is worth the trouble of trying to mate and struggle to find the right plate (I don't really care about the money it's more about the build and the experience for me) or just calling the easy route and swapping in a manual ex/si trans and building that along rebuilding the motor, I really only have sights for NA power but Im Looking for 150-190hp at the end when it all said n done. Like I said I DONT CARE ABOUT THE MONEY PLZ KEEP THE OBVIOUS COMMENTS TO YOUR SELF ONLY WANTING EDUCATIONAL ANSWERS.

You're not making 150-190hp on an NA D series.
Especially on an auto.
If you have to ask the questions you're asking, you are not even remotely prepared to do this swap. You'd need a couple hundred hours minimum of reading and research.
That's not even considering the ECM issues you'd likely run into.

Crazy how you post the exact same response that I would in all these different threads. Eventually you'll stop clicking reply or even typing a response.

ive seen multiple builds with those numbers across many different builds with a d motor that's NA and the auto is non existent as for the post about being a swap. Well yeah the info about the ecm and the electrical is the stuff I'm looking for, mainly like highlight stuff that should be addressed before the build process starts (i.e. obviously from people who have the experience doing what im asking about.) Hundreds of hours is fine as per me already saying I'm about the experience and the build itself I'm a nut like that. But I was already thinking the electrical components would be a hassle as they mostly are. So to me that's obvious. I was more concerned about what would cause the build to stop mid process for any reason, like not mate-able, harness won't work, and if the over all hassle of trying to find aftermarket parts( quantity available) or even fabrication (fab is fun). Im looking for the the stop gaps thatll make the build less enjoyable. Tbh anything past 150 is just shooting for the stars, im really aiming for around 150. But like i said if it's simpler to just get an ex/si tranny and build then I wouldn't mind that either. I'm just lookin to make a 1-off kind of build so I could care less about disapproval or hate. I'm looking for information that hasn't been accessible from what I could find. That's all.
