Default B16a Del Sol Automatic Ecu help 1997

Hello everyone, I have a 1997 del Sol with a b16a jdm motor in it. Just bought it from a friend and been having some trouble with an engine light. I recently just bypassed the crank sensor to rid of that code, but I still have a P1509 code showing up for IAC. As soon as I reset it l, it comes back right away before even starting the car. I've tested the IAC and it does work. I tested the plug and I'm not getting power. Checked power at ecu and nothing there either for the iac positive on the black and blue wire. (2 wire iac valve). The ecu is a p28 c54 obd2a with no chip. Im thinking my ecu is shot. I took it apart and didn't see anything visually concerning. I'm thinking of buying a new ecu. Any recommendation on which ecu I should purchase or should I just go for the same one? Also is there any other testing I can do to confirm it is the ecu?

What position is the black/blue wire in ? An OBD-2A Automatic ECU will be wired for a 3-wire IACV, whereas, your B16A will have a 2-wire IACV. You will need to purchase a manual P28 ECU so that your IACV will function properly... and make sure that the black/blue wire is actually located in A12 instead of A14 for an Automatic car.

I have no wire in A12 and then an orange in A13 and the black blue in A14. I moved the black blue to pin A12 but still get a code right away

Once you moved the wire from A14 to A12, you will continue to get the code until you swap from an automatic to a manual ECU (or convert your current automatic ECU to manual).

That won't interfere with my automatic transmission if I'm running a manual ecu?

And as per last night the car doesn't even start. I'm getting fuel and spark and crank but that's it. It started for a minute and idle was fluctuating between 500-1000 rpm, so I gassed it for a quick second and it shut off and hasn't started since. Tried again this morning and nothing. This things been nothing but issues the last couple weeks

OK wait... are you saying that you have a DOHC VTEC B16A engine with an Automatic transmission installed in this Del Sol ??? If so, you cannot run this with a P28 ECU regardless of whether it is an automatic or manual type. You will have to source a JDM B16A AUTO ECU. The fact that the engine doesn't start could be unrelated to the ECU, but you need to get a proper ECU if you intend to make this work.
