Rough Idle/ Misfire B20z Into EJ6 Hatch
I am in need of some advice/ guidance here.
I just finished swapping a B20Z into my 96 hatch. I’m running a chipped P06 (B20/18 Basemap + O2 Sensor Delete), OBD1 Dizzy, my original obd2a harness with a jumper for the ecu and dizzy. The swap ran great in my friends eg hatch. My D16 just had a fresh tuneup before the swap (Fuel Filter). The B20 also had a nice tuneup as well.
Im stuck on what could be causing this misfire. There’s no cel because of the sensor delete. There’s no obvious vacuum leaks. The car is getting fuel from injectors. I assumed that it would fire up and I could adjust timing and be able to drive it no problem. The only thing that changed from car to car was the injectors (he had obd1 h22 340cc injectors) and I swapped the cap on the dizzy because I broke it trying to get the engine mounted.
The engine holds idle but not very well. It fluctuates up and down about 100 RPM. The exhaust also pops like it’s got a misfire. When I rev the car it drops down to about 400 RPM and then goes back up. I don’t think it’s an ECU issue, but probably something very small that I missed.
Sorry if this feels a little all over the place. I’m just stressed and I wanna go rip on this thing knowing that it is healthy and running good. Anything helps!
