Default seafoam idea

1995 civic lx 5spd
so at 432k miles my little d15b7 is starting to blow blue smoke when its over 3500 rpm. Not a lot but noticeable in the rearview mirror.
I know some folks dont care for seafoam, but here is an idea.
pull the plugs
bring one piston to bottom dead center. pour 1/4 can of seafoam into the plug hole.
attach air compressor line to compression gauge. set compressor to 50 psi threaded into spark plug hole
let it sit for 30 minutes to push the seafoam past the rings then repeat for each cylinder
after 30 minutes remove seafoam by hand cranking engine
change the oil

The compression is 135 at all 4 cylinders so Im thinking that I have some stuck oil control rings, at this many miles it would not suprise me
what do yolu think

I don't think seafoam is going to help here.

I think this is natural mileage on the engine.

432k? It's probably worn out. Oval cylinders with no crosshatch left and no ring tension.

Valve guides are probably hotdog down a hallway loose.

The head was replaced 2 years ago. The crosshatch was still present as for the cylinders being oval, Im thinking more football shaped.

You can probably skip the compressed air. That seafoam will probably run around rhe rings and into the sump in fairly short order.

Rotate 90 degrees past tdc and all the pistons will be a mid stroke. Pour in the magic sauce and check back in 30 minutes. I bet it will have all leaked down in that time.

sooo I let the seafoam soak for 2 days, every couple of hours I twisted the crankshaft a few degrees back and forth. I then changed the oil and filter. Filled it with Rotella 15-40. Obviously the oil burning is way less d/t the thicker oil. The plan is to use the diesel oil for 3000 miles and let it clean the ring lands and what not. So far I have 200 miles on it and the oil is getting dirty quick. Previously with 5-30 Castrol, the oil would start getting dirty at about 400 miles. So that tells me that the Rotella is cleaning something out
We shall see

Or that you've further damaged the sealing on your ringlands and you're now rubbing away material at a faster rate.

Good luck, hopefully something works out.

SOOO, 3000 mile oil change, in the 3000 miles it burned 2.5 quarts, a little better than the 3 quarts that it used to. Oil is not Rotella 10-30 with new oil filter. We are seeing progress, a very small amount of progress but still progress. The oil that came out was really icky black where as previously it was a brown black, that tells me the rottela is cleaning something, more resutls in 3000 miles, stay tuned
