Default Notchy throttle cable 1999 Ex/Si

I've got a notchy throttle cable. I've oiled the cable but it hasn't resolved the issue. Can it be the throttle body or someting else?

Nope, oiling won't fix it. The sheathing inside the factory throttle cable started to come apart causing the throttle cable to stick, it was recalled back in the day. Replace the cable, I think Honda still has it available. It also doesn't help that the cable (if it's a factory part) is over 20+ years old.

EDIT: The recall was non-Si models but.. It is over 20 years old if it's the stock part. Best to replace it, probably falling apart internally causing the sticking/notchy.. Maybe 3-4 years ago I replaced the throttle cable on mine, it was the part they replaced during the recall.. because it was just that old, much better response, new stuff, always better!
