'99 Civic Ex Coupe
Hello all, I have a '99 civic Ex Coupe, with a 1.6l vtec with automatic transmission. I keep throwing a knock sensor code. I've replaced said knock sensor 3 times, once with a 10$, then a 40$ and now currently running oem honda knock sensor. I've also tried 2 other computers, still throwing the same code. I've checked the plug and wires for the knock sensor and they are perfectly fine, as is the rest of the harness. I've changed spark plugs and wires, distributor, and checked valve lashings. The only time it stayed away for a decent amount of time (3 to 4 days) is when I cleaned my crank position sensor. I let it set for a few days and took it out for a drive and right at about 2 miles down the road had a CEL and it was knock sensor again. I went ahead and changed the position sensor and its still doing it. The car sat for almost a year or so before I purchased it from a friend. Most of the car has been untouched and is still running oem factory parts from '99. Maybe I'm missing something obvious and someone can point me in the right direction? The car runs strong and rides smooth for 191k miles. I'm not sure what else to try, I'm stumped. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
Also, when driving if I clear the code, it won't come back until the next time I drive it. Usually after 24hrs, doesn't really occur multiple times in the same day or if the car sets for a few hours. It has done it though.
