So I recently redid my head gasket and once i tried driving the car i got stutters through every gear. it’s intermittent, but only under load, and feels like there is no combustion happening. I replaced the ECT and tried two different distributors that bench tested well. new spark plugs but it’s still causing the issue. what could it be?

 

Timing! check ignition and mechanical timing

 

both are in check. I did ignition with a timing light. I realized that this happened after i replaced my ect sensor, i’m popping the old one back in and trying again.

 

nope. still stuttering. it’s not a constant misfire, it’s like intermittent only under throttle when in gear and under load. if i’m downshifting i can rev it fine
