I just bought my first car today which was a b16a swapped 95 eg civic. the previous owner removed the power steering but i would like to put one back in. Any tips to help a clueless 17 year old out?
Start with a list of all the parts of the system that are not still on the car. Below is the diagram from HondaPartsNow.com for everything other than the pump and rack.
If most of this is missing, try finding a donor at your local self serve yard or search the classifieds for someone parting one out. otherwise order the few parts you need.
Then find out if the rack was replaced with a manual one or the lines just looped. If you want to play it safe, order a reman'ed power rack to put in. Don't forget new inner and outer tie-rod ends if they aren't included.
According to this thread the stock pump should be used, but the brackets and belt should be what came on an Si Del Sol. If you don't have them already, billet aftermarket pump brackets seem readily available. As you may have a hard time finding used OE for a good price.
