Hybrid Air Conditioning not working
I would like to ask the experts help on with an air conditioner problem: My air conditioner doesn't blow cold air. The fan works, it blows air, it's just not cold
It's a 2012 Honda Civic Hybrid, 230,000 miles
I took it to a local shop, he said the clutch was bad, but it couldn't be replaced, quoted $4,000 to replace it. Ha! Said the freon level was OK. I think the mechanic might not know the Civic Hybrid.
I think I have heard that the air conditioning on a Civic Hybrid works somewhat differently, has different parts.
I called a local dealership, they said that you can buy the clutch ($300) and you can buy an actuator, $150.
I would like to ask you:
Can you buy a clutch for a Civic Hybrid? Is this a part that is available?
I looked on Honda Parts Cheap and it seems to say that it is available.
Although if the actual problem is the actuator, that's a cheaper part.
How would I figure this out?
Are there any troubleshooting instructions available?
Thank you for any guidance you can give on this.
Larry
