I'm thinking about putting Power windows in my 1990 Civic Si. I am just looking into this idea and I am wondering if it is a straight forward bolt on modification and what parts are required. I am looking for any helpful information. Especially which years and model cars I might be able to source compatible parts from. Alternatively if you know a reason this won't work or would be particularly difficult I would like to know that before I spend a lot of time thinking about this. Thanks

I have not satisfied my curiosity on this subject yet. Based on the number of views, there seems to be quite a bit of interest in this subject. This thread has a lot of views for a thread with no replies. I thought I would add a bit more info and see if it would prompt anyone to add something else. I see several reasonably priced options for aftermarket power window regulators such as this one which claims to fit Civic Hatchback 1988-1991. I saw an older car (not a Honda) that had these switches installed so it looked completely stock and you couldn't even tell the car had power windows. Has anyone used any of these aftermarket power window regulators in a 4th gen Civic hatch? Are they decent quality? The only wires going to my doors are the speaker wires, is it difficult to get power to the doors?
I'm finding quite a bit of information about adding power windows to a CRX but not much about a hatch. Is the CRX information applicable to a hatch? I think the CRX and Hatch use the same door so if that is correct then the information should apply to both?
This eBay Power Window Regulator says it fits a Civic Si. I can get a pair delivered for less than $100. It sounds like getting power into the door is difficult so I was thinking perhaps I would try running power into the door first and if that works out then I could buy the window regulators. It seems like getting wires into the door is the hardest part. Any way to do it without removing the fenders?
I’m in the process now. I’ve been accumulating parts over time, but sourced regulators and switches from LHD CRXs in EDM/UKDM on eBay. I had a custom harness built to incorporate everything, but currently having some regrets, as it uses Deutsch connectors at each door interface, and Ive not figured a way to smoothly integrate these with the stock connectors in place.
I did have to remove my fenders. Currently it’s all taken apart while I figure out my wire routing solution. May have to cut up this harness…will come back if/when I figure out a solution.
Those window crank switches are a pretty slick solution to aftermarket regulators…even if you still have to lean over to operate the passenger side.
FWIW, those actuators look nearly identical to mine for CRX. I see lots of mounting options. CRX uses the rectangle bolt pattern.
Look at that, I am not alone! After 3000+ views someone responded. I am also running wires for power mirrors while I'm there but I don't have any plans for power locks. I'm still determined to avoid removing the fenders. I was thinking I could disconnect the door end of the boot and feed a long zip tie thru the boot use that to pull the wires and/or lubricate the wires with silicon or that slimy stuff they use for feeding wire through conduit, perhaps blow compressed air in while feeding the wire to open the boot up a bit.
I said to hell with it and removed my dash, too. I couldn’t conveniently get to the inside portion of the cable bundle. Still a challenge, but easier. And I have several cables to route thru the dash, so this will make it easier and cleaner.
If it helps, here are some pics of what you’re working with. Two rubber boots e-taped onto tubing that feeds the wires, all taped on the inside of the car. So finding where the zip tie stops may be a challenge. I also really didn’t want to remove the fender, but now that I have, I’m kicking myself for not doing it sooner. Some hole-drilling would have gone much smoother for some separate wiring.
Do you have power mirrors yet? I have a pair for a civic that I accidentally ordered for my CRX. Let me know if interested. Better to do with the windows while already running wires.
**Edit**: my bad...totally missed you're already doing the mirrors.

Turns out the window crank switches that say they fit "all vehicles" really just fit old Fords and Chevys. So it may require some additional fabrication if I decide to go that way.
@Tyson I will be using some of the advice and ideas from your post. I think all the aftermarket power windows that claim to fit are in fact EF sedan power windows as you suggested. The advantages would be that I would not need to go to a junkyard and remove them, they will be new, and the price is about the same. The disadvantage is they won't be OEM parts and I can't grab the wire harness while I'm there but it has been 15 years since you did that writeup and at this point its is pretty rare to find one of these cars in a junkyard anyway.
@kilofoxtrot Thanks for the mirror parts offer! I have the parts for that mod and I am making progress. I have the mirrors removed without breaking anything. I see you have the interior plastic trim for a sedan, I managed to get the interior plastic trim without holes for a hatchback so I won't need to modify the plastic trim from a sedan.
