I have a 99 civic that is making a loud grinding/whirring noise when the clutch is not pressed. When I press the clutch, it goes away. I’d say it is the throw out bearing, but I just threw in a spare trans and whole new clutch kit with new throw out bearing, pilot bearing, clutch and pressure plate. Before I threw the new clutch kit in, the old clutch and old trans made the same loud whirring/grinding noise. This makes me think it could be something like the slave or needing a clutch adjustment. Has anyone ever encountered this?
