1997 Honda Dx 2.2 crank no start
Hello Everyone,
This Accord had a misfire on cylinder 4
Checked for a spark at the wire by putting it close to a ground, there was a spark jumping the gap.
Swapped plugs misfire stayed in the same cylinder- 4
Removed injector connector and checked for power and signal using a smart test light (an led test light that you connect to the battery positive and negative, when a ground is probed led turns green, when a positive is probed it turns red) With the vehicle running I probed the power wire, led turned red, probed the signal wire led blinked continuously. As I did this the vehicle stalled and would not start, at this point, we lost spark. Did I fry the ecm?
Checked all fuses in the engine bay box and in the driver's side kick panel area, all checked okay. .Although the following checked okay, they were replaced. the distributor and the coil. The camshaft sensor when probed and vehicle cranked produces around .2- .9 of a volt. I am assuming this is okay. So I am wondering if I could have killed the ecm?
On another note, I have access to a 1997 Honda Accord ex, the same engine as far I can tell, is this ecm swappable with the Dx?
Any and all input is greatly appreciated.
Gary
