Engine Misfire Assistance
Hey guys, I have a P0301 (Cylinder 1 Misfire) that just popped up today when the CEL turned on but for the past few days ive had a really rough idle and when trying to accelerate the rpm would take a sec before jumping upwards and feels kinda jerky. When that would happen the CEL would flash but now it just stays on. It doesnt jerk all the time but occasionally. Im trying to find a fix as its my only source of transportation. Thanks to all who read this

The blinking is actually the detection of misfires... once a cylinder experiences a certain amount, then you get the code for the offending cylinder and the Check Engine light stays on solid. If there is more than one offending cylinder, then you will also get a P0300 "Random Misfire" code.
Examine the offending cylinder... compression test, spark plug check, verify that the fuel injector is functioning properly (move to another cylinder and see if the problem moves with it), and ignition.

As mentioned above: It’s misfiring.
Not trying to make it seem like you don’t know what you are doing but just trying to Kindergarden this thing incase you need the vehicle quick.
The gentleman that replied before me is absolutely correct and that is the proper way to diagnose those issue. That being said I would slap some spark plugs, spark plug wires, distributor cap, and rotor button in it and that will more than likely fix it. Keep in mind that the guy responding before me told you the proper way to diagnose though
