Can D16Y8 throttle screw be removed?

Hello, I was wanting to completely remove the idle screw from the throttle body of my D16Y8 engine. When I back the screw out to the end of what appears the end of the "adjustment range" the screw becomes hard to turn, and I'm worried I might damage the throttle body. I've been having a lot of idle issues and was wanting to check the o-ring in there. The OEM parts suppliers sell the idle screw, so it must come out, Anybody removed theirs? Just wondering about this. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.

It gets so difficult to turn(even with lubricant)that I'm worried I'm going to damage the threads. Something seems not right. The groove in the screw is very shallow, too,
Thank you for your response. I'll give a little bit of background. The P505 code is driving me nuts, I changed my IACV, but not with a new one. I thought I had the problem fixed after finding and replacing a collapsed PVC hose and installing a new PCV valve. The car ran great until all the monitors cleared, but then the P505 code returned. This latest idea of checking the throttle screw came to mind. I've smoke tested all the vacuum lines and purged the coolant until I'm blue in the face. Any advice? Should I buy an OEM supplier IAVC? The IAVC on the car looked new. Thanks again.
