HELP!!! HOW TO UNLOCK STEERING WHEEL WITH NO KEY? (1998 Honda civic)
Hello all,
Unfortunately last night some thieves tried to steal my civic. They completely destroyed the ignition with a drill. Luckily they didn’t know how to drive manual so they only made it down a block. I am able to turn the car on by putting a screw driver into the white ignition thing on the lower left hand side of the steering wheel; however, the car is un-drivable since the steering wheel is locked. I’ve tried placing the key into the shredded hole and turning the wheel hard to unlock but there is no luck. Does anyone have any suggestions for how to approach unlocking this mechanism?

Yes, you must remove the steering column lock/key tumbler. If you do not know how to do so, contacting a locksmith would be the next best thing.
