Need help! B18c turbo ek overheating!!
I need help!!! overheating after replace ect sensor.
Replaced new one still doing same.. also replace fan switch, radiator upper when rad cap is off everything fine. Soon as cap on drive temp slowly creeping up 220ish.. I even tried bypass heater core.. replaced multiple thermostat. When I do vaccum test no leak at all. I tried fan override from hondata.. one time one of hose blew off.. my motor just built...
If you are making that much coolant system pressure that you blow hoses off... I believe you may have a head gasket sealing issue. Quick test: After letting the car cool overnight, feel the upper radiator hose and notice that it has coolant inside and no air (top off the radiator if it doesn't) and take note of how this feels when you squeeze it. Now, crank up the car and let it idle for 15 to 20 seconds... and the squeeze the hose in the same place again. If the hose gets really stiff, you are likely pressurizing the cooling system with combustion pressure. You can run a test to see if exhaust gas is in the coolant... I believe your local auto parts store will have a test kit.
Get a leak down tester and pump up the cylinders to 100 psi, one at a time. Look in the rad...Do you have bubbles? If so, your head/head gasket is done. I had a Subbie with good compression check, no combustion gasses when checked, but with the leak down it was so obvious.
It's the best way to check IMHO.
