Default It’s been a few years….

Well after owning my ‘project’ car for now, probably 12 years? And losing hope and everything else.

I pulled it out of storage and now have it back at my house.
And of course now the temptation to work on it with my son has started.
Now this is where I am definitely going to need some help to get me pointed in the right direction.

I remember when I was cranking on it when I thought it was good. I was getting fuel. But no spark. And that’s where I lost it. And not being very knowledgeable or having much help from who I bought it from. I gave up.

Now that I want to dive back into it.

How can I tell what OBD I am running? What I need? Etc. I’m picking up just out of the blue and need some direction.

Some details.

92 Honda civic. Hatch.
h22a swap.

im thinking. More than likely I should have replaced my distributor when I initially tried to get it running, 12 years ago, but I wasn’t very knowledgeable. And just said **** it at that point.

I’m probably going to get it up on jack stands. And start tearing into. And see kind of where I am sitting. And what I need to fix. Cause I am sure back then. **** was half assed.

A '92 Civic H/B is OBD-1... and as I tell you this, I will also tell you that this detail is not important, so please do not focus on it. If you are using an OBD-1 ECU (it would plug directly into the ECU plugs on your right kick panel without any harness adapter), then you can use ANY '92-01 distributor, fuel injectors, throttle body, etc. even if they are OBD-2. OBD-1 and OBD-2 type sensors work very similarly, so all you have to is decide what products you wish to use and your engine harness/wiring can be modified to make things work based on your selections. If you can provide photos of what components you wish to use, we can help you get this done.

I’ll get some pictures tonight if I can

but that’s good to know! Makes things a tad better.
