So my car is a 2000 2.3 F23 Honda accord 5 speed. Lately I've been having an issue with a VTEC solenoid engine code 1259. This was the only code there at the time. I know low oil levels or pressure can cause this so I checked my oil and the level was indeed low. Topped it off and made sure it was full, then cleared the codes from the ECU (as well as disconnecting power to reset the ECU memory just to be safe). For the next day or so it was working fine. All issues seemed to be gone, VTEC was working properly. Only issue still there is my non functional cruise control. Then the next morning on my way to an appointment it started idling real low and shaking when at idle, and was in a 4k RPM limp mode. Checked the codes and the P1259 Solenoid code as well as a P1399 Random Misfire code were saved in the ECU. The 1399 always shows as pending. EGR Valve is new, and valves were adjusted recently by a dealer. VTEC solenoid and pressure switch are also new. This issue has been here now for about two weeks. I've done a tune up including new plugs, wires, dizzy, along with the new EGR and Solenoid. It has a brand new Fuel regulator. I've checked all the wiring for breakage, and they are all in good shape. One friend I talked to thinks its my ECU failing cause apparently that's common for my car, and I'm hoping that's not the case. Money is tight and I'm working on it myself, So here I am wondering if any of you out there might have a little bit of insight into what's causing this and how I can fix it. Can the misfire cause my VTEC code? I don't want to just throw more parts at it, I only changed the ones I did cause they were all parts that needed to be changed anyway.
