b16 all motor build
I have en em1 with the stock b16. I’m looking start an all motor build, and I can’t lie, this stuff is pretty new to me. I want to do it right with good quality parts and am wondering how I should go about starting this. What parts should I focus on getting and in what order? Appreciate the help.
Be more specific about your goals, IE how much more power you want or what you'll be using the car for - It sounds like it's a street/daily driver.
If you're trying to put some pep in the step of the car, one of the easier and best bang for buck changes I'd recommend would be to change the 4.4 final drive in your transmission out for a 4.7 final drive from an ITR (or look at Mfactory final drive gears). If you intend to do a lot of highway driving, try to swap the 5th gear out for an LS 5th so your highway mileage doesn't suffer.
Besides that, B16's aren't necessarily ideal for an NA setup since they lack displacement. If you want to stick with NA, you may want to consider building a B20 or LS block on the side to use rather than your B16 block. Otherwise, you could do a simple build like Skunk2 Tuner 1 cams, and then just intake and headers and still gain 20+WHP with a tune. That plus the shorter final drive would make for a pretty responsive and decently quick ride.
Edit: Also, for tuning look into an S300, Link ECU, Haltech, AEM, etc. The S300 or Neptune is likely the cheapest option while still being very effective, it would be smart to find a tuner first and see what they prefer/are familiar with.
If you stay NA then your stock injectors, fuel rail, and pump should all suffice.
