Default B20 vtec head issues

Ok, I need to reach our to the best honda minds. I have a 92 civic w the b20 vtech franken motor. Recently it overheated and the catch can was full of coolant. Im thinking blown head gasket. I got the manifolds off no problem but there was a lot of oil/wet in the intake side. The valve cover and cams came off like they are supposed to but after i took the 10 head nuts off (they were 12 sided) the head will NOT come off or even loose. I swear the thing is welded on. I believe it should just lift off but it wont even wiggle. Am I missing something? I don't even see any space between head and block where ther should be a gasket. HELP!

Use a 3/16" hex key/socket and remove the studs too. Then pull the head off. If it was welded, you would see a weld line all around the bottom edge of the head where it meets the block. It is probably just stuck.

That was it. Took a whole can of kroil and a breaker bar to get the studs loose but as soon as they were out it popped right off. Thank you!
