How much engine movement with Hasport mounts is normal? (Video included)
Alright so as the title says I’m wondering how much movement is OK or normal with Hasport motor mounts. Specifically 62A street spec. As shown in the video, the engine slightly moves back and forth when revving in 1st gear with the car off the floor. I’m just unaware as to if that’s a normal amount or not. I have a 91 crx with a b18b swap on those mounts and I’m getting this singular clunk / bang when releasing the clutch into 2nd gear. It shakes the middle of the dash which makes me think it’s the rear motor mount. The mounts themselves have only been installed for a year and have only seen 4k miles. I’m able to eliminate the clunking by really focusing on matching the revs to the gear. So I can’t tell if it’s just lack of driver mod or this mount. I’m about to check it for tearing when I get home from work but figure I’d try and get a second opinion as well. Sorry for the short video, it only lets me add a short clip.
That looks pretty normal to me, especially considering you're on the 62A bushings. When you installed them, I'm guessing you made sure to get the brackets tight and the bushings torqued to spec?
The clunk you hear is more likely something with the transmission than with the mounts. It's also worth noting that there should be two additional engine torque mounts - Besides the three motor mounts on the trans, rear t bracket, and timing belt side of the engine, there are two additional torque mounts that are sometimes missing on these cars - One that attaches to the transmission, and the other if I remember correctly on the AC compressor bracket.
That being said, I think your problem is something with the trans and not the mounting.
