Introducing my 3rd Civic EK. Yup that’s right, hence I call (him) Thirdy.
Bought this gem last October 2022, full factory with 131,XXX on the clock.
It’s a 2000 model EK “New Zealand specs” powered by a 1.6 litter D16Y4 engine, and paired with a
5 Speed manual transmission. Interior condition is mint no rips or stains on the seats, engine bay was perfect
with all factory parts still in good shape. I’ve been a Honda fanatic since I was a kid, and this EK’s really
caught my attention. EK’s are fun to drive and easy to dress-up, but most importantly easy to maintain.
Initially I was going to keep it stock, but finally decided to give it a different look.
See the next few photos to see how it all started..
Acquired on Oct 2022
Pretty low K's for a 23 yr old Civic, with only 131306 on the clock
Full factory condition engine, with most of the attachments still Zinc Yellow coated.
Set of Jamex Superlow springs
New Goodyear tyres to match the rims
Fitted a set of 15x6.5 38 offset Konig Heliums
Side shot showing it's ride height (approx 40mm drop from factory)
JDM Grill aka "1-liner"
JDM Cup holder, strut bar and floor mats
OE Bumper lip off a 1999 EK ViRS
Aftermarket Yellow lens fog lights
Getting ready for installation
Final results
Thirdy will be undergoing a paint restoration soon, and so I'm also contemplating whether I should get the front lip and side skirts painted to match the body color.
Your thoughts?

I think you should do it. That's what I would do if I were in your place.
Did you thinked about painting thin side molding set too?
Do you have power folding side mirror set?

Thanks for your input 👍
Civic’s just had it’s painting done. I’ve chosen to keep the side mouldings in Black to match with the window lining. And to that folding side mirror, unfortunately it’s not available to NZ versions. 😞

You can find the power folding mirror set either from Honda Orthia or from EK9.
Power folding mirror set from Honda Orthia will fit p&p. The set from the EK9 needs to be adapted to the door from the sedan body and it is not very complicated.

Oh that’s good to know, there are plenty of Orthia’s
around here but not EK9. Now that folding mirrors will be my next mod. 🙌
