Hello I just did a auto to manual swap on my 97 hx and I'm needing to get a manual ecu does anyone know if I can use a p2e from a d16y7 civic for my swap

You will need the HX (D16Y5) spec manual ecu, the vtec-e system is different than the other vtec system in the EX. 37800-P2N-A21 is the factory number for 1996 HX models but because of the old EPA lawsuit Honda came out with the A22 revision. The 97-98 HX is also the A22 model. 99-2000 is the A32 replaced with the A33. If you do get one, check the capacitors, they're old enough now to leak, time to replace them.

 

Don't get too hung up on the A21 vs A22 when hunting for an ecu. As @oneheadlight pointed out they were forced to change the calibration after being sued for CAA violations, but the ecu will still perform fine for the end user (kinda the whole issue). VW wasn't the first cheater.

 

I found this on facebook claims its from a hx manual would this be the correct for the swap
