Icon4 91 Civic DX Sedan Driver Side Marker/Flasher Issue

Hello Techs

Searched a little for this, but I need the help. I have a driver side amber marker light that has been out for years (as well as the passenger side). After successfully upgrading my rear, driving and brake lights, as well as my rear turn signals with LED lights, introducing the six ohm resistors in parallel, it was now time to do the same to the front headlights, auxiliary lights (white ones), and the amber marker lights just behind the auxiliaries. Everything was working very well until both marker light/turn signal and auxiliaries were introduced to the LED bulb. Afterwards it was almost as if they were working opposite of each other and the driver side was flashing just for a microsecond but yet still on time with the other flasher, although it should not have been flashing at that time. I went back to standard Sylvania bulbs, but it did not remedy the situation. I had intermittent success, but nothing conclusive.

The problem was the amber marker flashers behind the white auxiliary lights seemed to work opposite of each other. When I turned on the right turn signal, the left would flash and visa versa. I introduced the six ohm, 50 W resistor in parallel, and thought I had fixed it by placing in the standard Sylvania lights afterwards. Then, I noticed something strange.

I smelt a very distinct electrical, burning smell inside the driver side, similar to what might be a shorting, relay or transformer. Not the wire insulation smell, but rather a PCBoard smell. I rushed to my lights and the driver light stayed on, even after turning the car off. Off!

The final diagnosis showed the following: the driver side amber marker light now has a constant 12 V going to the socket even when the car is completely off. So, after much frustration, the only thing that I can consider is that my flasher relay has somehow shorted the driver side marker, light relay circuit. it is important to note that the lower bumper turn signal works perfectly as do all of the other turn signals on the car. It is the left driver side amber marker light that shows a continuous 12 V. I removed the Sylvania bulbs on both amber marker lights until I can find a solution. Can anyone please help me? Is it my flasher relay?

Think I found the fix. It is a fried flasher control unit, a small gray box in back of the driver side dash fuse box. It plugs into the back of the fuse panel, so once I removed the fuse panel, (10mm I think) I took out the box, carefully opened it with a small screwdriver and it was burnt on the back where the solder is. Off to the junk yard, then I will restore back to standard Sylvania lights for now.
