OBD1 D15 Block y5 head in 96 Ex
Im posting again as a lot has changed with my last thread. I bought a 96 EX with a D16y5 blown engine
Im on a budget build and am using the parts available to me as best as i can
its looking like the car is goikg to be as follows
Block: D15b2 (adjustable cam gear
Head: Y5 V-Tech E and using Y5 timing belt)
Mani: Y5??
Dizzz:y5
Ecu: Stock 96 (or does the obd1 block call for and obd1 ecu?)
Trans: D15B2 Manual (plan on conversion trans in car may be bad as shift interlock dosent activate and i can shif through gears without brake car may note run so no way of testing)
I understand the problem with using vtech e without the stock ecu or tune to kick vtch in a 3k instead of 5k however If possible i plan on doing a obd2a to obd1 using an adapter harness the ecu i plan on using is one out of an Hx. but that will be later on unless im forced to change it now with and obd1 block
the main problem im having is i dont know if the y5 manifold would work with the obd 1 after the change or even now with the current setup
if i use the y5 dizzy, and mani right now with odb2 would i have to change them (I would like a y8 head) after and obd1 swap
i also head something about wiring it yourseld and turning it on manually at 3k
at the end of the day i would like the car running asap so i can focus on my is350s issues and work because its my daily
my last concern is if the hague cluster and wiring harness in the car now would work with obd1 ecu. The guy i bought the car of had some wiring mess and i will installing a new one soon
or does the harness take care of that
does this sound like a plan that going to work?
I have 0 experience on honda engines
and working on projects alone and I went into this project with 0 knowledge on anything related to this.sorry for any obvious questions ive asked
