Transmission chirp/bird noise
Hello Guys,
I'm trying to figure out a noise my 2012 Civic Si (standard) makes.
When starting out in first it has been making what has been a chirp. It's gotten loud, and progressively longer. What started out as a simple half second "chirp" (it doesn't sound like a belt chirp theres a bit of a grumble to it too), now it's lasting a second and a half. I feel confident it's not a belt
before I bring it in to have a transmission person give it a look see, I wanted to ask thoughts on what might it be? I'm not very transmission savvy, but can turn a wrench pretty well...TIAV

Could actually be the belt. You could remove the belt and quickly start it up and put it in gear and listen for noise or spray a fine mist of water on the belt and have someone quickly move it in first amd see if the noise goes away for a second.
