2019 type r heating up
So i got off work, started the car and was heading home when i noticed that my temp gauge was higher than normal about 55% on the gauge. So i stared at it and saw it slowly creep up to about 75% hold there and then drop all the way back down to normal roughly 45%. Has anyone else experienced this and if so is it supposed to do that or if not what was the issue?
Sounds like you are low on coolant and you have air trapped in the system. When an air bubble/pocket is around the temperature sensor, it will read higher than the coolant fluid will... and of course, when the fluid pushes the bubble away from the sensor, the temperature drops back down to normal.
It sounds like you may have experienced an actual normal operation of the coolant system in your 2019 Type R. The temperature gauge can fluctuate depending on the driving conditions, such as idling in traffic or driving at high speeds.
However, if you notice that the temperature gauge is consistently higher than normal, or if it rises rapidly and stays high, it could be an indication of a problem with the cooling system. It's always a good idea to have your vehicle inspected by a qualified technician to ensure that everything is working properly.
Some common causes of high engine temperature can include a low coolant level, a faulty thermostat, a malfunctioning fan, or a clogged radiator. If any of these issues are present, it can lead to overheating and potential damage to the engine.
If you're not already, it's also a good idea to keep an eye on the coolant level and regularly inspect the cooling system for any leaks or damage. It's important to catch any potential issues early to prevent more significant damage down the line.
I hope this information helps
