Random Misfires in 99 Civic DX
>For the past month my car (daily driver) has been throwing me a blinking CEL that reads p0300 p0301 p0303. It is an automatic btw with 162k miles on it with no mods on it. Car has no problem turning over.
>I may be wrong about what gears it is in here. It reaches higher than normal rpms when switching from 1st to 2nd at around 20 mph and does the same going 2nd to 3rd at around 40 mph. My check engine light flashes when I apply pressure to my gas pedal but stops when I coast. The car only does this when it is at normal operating temperatures though. If the engine is cold it drives fine. I have replaced my spark plugs, spark plug wires, cap and rotor to my distributor, gas filter, new 02 sensors (they are BOSH though). Did a combustion test for a bad head gasket and the liquid stayed blue. It did not chance colors. Oil doesn't look like a milky chocolate color and white smoke is coming out my exhaust. I also used spray Seafoam in my throttle body to clean up built up carbon. After the spray and letting it sit and driving it around it seems to have made no difference. Checked my trans fluid and its still red.
>At this point I have no clue what can be causing my misfires in cylinders 1 & 3. Next step is my doing a compression test of all four cylinders to see if I have a bad seal or something. I am trying my best to not take it into a shop since I am a broke college kid. I might have to end up doing so since their scanners can probably tell what's exactly wrong with all the info it can gather. Assuming they have a nice OBD2 scanner.
