Default P0715 (have read many posts on this yes)

I have a 1996 Honda Accord non VTEC I have been having issues shifting erratically and slipping of the transmission. Upon research I have tested both the main shaft and the other sensor I can't recall the name off the top of my head for their resistance values and clean them off they both were around 500 ohms so that leads me to believe the magnetic sensors are fine.

from reading my next steps would probably be to trace wire continuity back to the PCM, however I believe it may just be a bad transmission but I'm hoping not.

I have checked the transmission fluid it is still very clean but about a quart low I am going to top it off but I doubt that is my issue I will drive the car and sometimes it will be fine but then the check engine light illuminates and goes into limp mode, and if I pull over and reset the computer it seems to drive fine until I go up a hill.

I suppose what I'm asking is what would you recommend for me to check next and also is it possible for the main stay and NC sensors to pass a resistance test but still be faulty?

Any help is appreciated
