Default 94 Del Sol Speedometer works *sometimes*

I recent replaced the clutch on my Del Sol, since then my speedometer has stopped working. I have a 94 Del Sol B20B swap with GSR manual trans.

I have since replaced the VSS twice and replaced the whole cluster once. “Newer” cluster came off a manual 93 Del Sol Si. I have replaced the male plug that plugs into the VSS cause the wires were pulled out by mistake. I only have a tester light so I checked the first 2 pins have power but I obviously cannot check ground with just a light (broke college kid on a budget).

The needle stays mostly at 0 but will shoot up to the right speed randomly; just to randomly fall back to 0. No CEL.

I’m guessing it’s a wiring issue? I haven’t had any fuses blow yet. If anyone has any advice to give (other than replace VSS/Cluster) I’d really appreciate the advice

Cool!
I had to send my cluster out to get the caps replaced...
