Default Rough engine after washing

Hey all, have a 2000 civic ex and I decided to just spray some engine degreaser and wash it down with a water hose. So no high pressure. Started the car right after to make sure it started no issue. After that turned it off. Came back 20 mins later and started it and it was just fine. I need to move the car out of my drive way and then once I put it in reverse and hit the gas pedal it started running rough. I put it back in park and revved the engine and it was stumbling and white smoke started coming out of the exhaust. It would only stumble around 2k but would run smooth after 3k. So I revved the engine and thick clouds of white smoke came out like if you seafoamed the engine. After that the cloud went away after a min or 2 and engine is now running fine.

question is it possible to have done any damage?

Well I did a compression test on it this morning with a cold engine and was getting 240 PSI on Cylinders 1,3,and 4 and 230 PSI on Cylinder 2. So i guess I'm OK?

Those numbers are fine.

Sounds like you somehow got water into the cylinders/intake which evaporated as you let the car run.

Reminds me of the other week when I was cleaning my bay with the motor on. No upper timing cover and trying to shine the mount, sucked up the rag in the timing belt, it killed the car and jumped timing

been there done that NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. Its not so much the whole rag destroyed the engine that sucks, its explaining to people how it happened that sucks. " Well you see, Im a dumb sh$# and well, it kinda went south from there" If you just jumped the belt/timing and did not destroy any valves, go buy a lottery ticked.

We have all been there
