Hi all, I was planning to buy a 2023 or 2024 Civic, possibly an Integra depending on what happens later this year or into 2024 with engine options, features and factors.
See, I have been told by several mechanics to avoid the 1.5 turbo, and go with a 2.0 liter if possible, turbo or non.

I was thinking about buying the Civic sport paying it off in 24 to 30 months then thinking about what has been offered by then, to see if maybe I could trade it in for either a Type r, or Integra.
I cant afford the Type R now, but if I saved up a 7 or 8k down payment plus had a 2023 sport to trade in, I probably could swing it then.

I'm hoping Honda adds the HUD feature as well the 2.0-liter engine in other models.
I like the hatch over the Sedan and as I said would prefer a 2.0 liter for longevity.

I drive a 2007 Nissan 350z now and it has been bullet proof at 155k miles.
I never beat on it, dump the clutch, drift or otherwise tack it out, I have fun in it, but I also take care of it, and never abuse it.

A Type R is a lot more car than I need and since I don't track it or race, would only be for my daily driver and fun on road trips, but it is overly aggressive for my needs.
an Integra with a 2.0-liter turbo would probably be a better fit for me and offer the combination of sport and luxury I want in a car.

Things like the HUD and of course the 2.0-liter engine should they incorporate one in the next year or two.
anyway, I'll be reading, learning lurking around the forums to see what helpful info I can pick up.

Well it was 11 months ago when I started this journey and made this post.
Looking back, not a lot has changed.

In fact, Acura did make a 2.0 liter version of the Integra the DE5, which is exactly what I was hoping for 5 months before it's release.
I started saving for a down payment last May.

I figured, to justify a DE5 or FL5, I would need to sell it to my wife, as it is literally 2x as expensive as the Civic Sport that I started out looking at, which by the way I do still want to buy.
But I digress, I started saving thinking, if I could save up close to 50% of the MSRP, then financing the car would be no different than if I bought the Civic Sport with no money down, right?
Well, sort of, not exactly but it sounded good to me at the time.

Fast forward all these months, 7u months later, I have $15k saved towards the DE5, and I plan to save until March 15th or so, which by then, I will have slightly over $25k, depending on what our tax returns bring us it could be even more.
I have a deal with 3 dealerships for MSRP, and a deposit at one of them.
I stipulated the color I want, and it has to be after March 1st.
So, now I just wait while I continue to save.

In 10 weeks or so hopefully one of these three dealers will get a new allocation that includes the color I want, and I can take delivery in mid-March, at least that is what I am hoping for.
It has been a long journey to get this far, and I am very excited.
The car isn't perfect and there are several other cars I would also like to experience in this price range or a hair more, but I don't have any fomo or feelings of maybe I should re consider, I am 100% in.

I plan to take delivery of a Lunar silver with ebony interior, a few accessories and then straight to detail, tint, and a few minor cosmetic mods and I will be finished for now and just e4njoyu the car, can't wait, it is getting close, finally. I wanted to log my journey from start to finish, I'm hoping now I can find someone on these boards that can help me determine exactly which spare tire kit I can buy that will fit in the integra Type S, I heard the Accord has one, but I wondered about the Civic Spor.
I want to buy a spare tire kit from whichever car has one that will bolt in to the integra as if it were meant to be there.
I'll continue to update this as things progress.
