Default Bad Oil Pan Gasket?

Hey guys! I have a (probably silly and should know this) question! So recently my 2000 Honda Civic has been making a spitting noise whenever RPMs are inbetween 3000 and 4000 until I shift. But lately has been getting worse. I suspect that the oil pan gasket has failed and is spewing oil out and all over my O2 sensor when the car is at operating temperature. Has anyone ever heard of this before?? Please help!
