My D15B7 dipstick measured roughly 17 inches total length, only 11 3/8ths of an inch from the bottom to the black stopper. Best bet is to just buy the correct part number, the part # for a D15B7 is 15650-P10-A01. AFAIK they're different between which D series you have, if you need the right # for a different motor just let me know

thanks bro... mine is a d15b 3 stage... I think it's the same as a y7 or a y8... but I haven't been able to find out the size of any
I never noticed a difference in the D's except the Z1. That has a shield on it yet both the b7 and z1 measure the same as I've checked my oil with both and they come out the exact same reading.
Checking Hondaparts now, the D16Z6 and The D15B7 have the same dipstick part number (no shield).
Then the D15Z1 and the D15B8 have the same dipstick part number (both have the shield due to the manifold catalytic converter).
So, for the 5th gen D series there is 2 dipsticks but they read the same in the 5th gen motors. 6th gen may have different results. They moved the dipstick location on the 6th gens if I recall.
what is the correct length of the oil dipstick to be able to measure the oil correctly
every engine I have ever had to buy, car, boat, lawnmower. If it takes oil and has a dipstick I will change the oil within the first week of owning it, then mark the dipstick with a wire cutter. Just a nick on the edge to indicate full. The one and only time I didnt do that, the dipstick was too short, so I overfilled it, causig the oil to froth into a foam and destroyed the bearings. Actually the dipstick wasnt too short, it just moved in the rubber gromet that held it in place. VW 1600cc circa 1986
