B18c1 rebuilt vs built new engine price.
Hello everyone, I was wondering how much more it would be to buy a b18c1 and get it rebuilt (by a professional) with OEM quality or better parts than it would be to buy all the parts of the same quality and taking it to get built? thank you all.
Your question makes no sense.. seems like your asking the same thing twice.. simply it would be cheaper to do a compression test on the motor, if it's in spec then just replace all the easy access seals and gaskets.
If you have the money, refresh the engine will all new OEM gaskets, seals, o-rings, piston rings, bearings, cylinder honing and everything else a good cleaning than to actually change any mechanical parts and just keep it in stock form for reliability.

1. drop off your car/engine off to a reputable shop
2. wait like 2 months of bickering and back and forth...
3. pick up car, with money in hand to pay the hefty bill for the "build".
4. drive car for a week and half and it stalls out on side of road.
5. find out that the shop didn't do **** but took your money. All the "expensive" parts, which eventually ended up being used on their cars instead of yours.
6. try to take those lowlifes to small claims court because they accuse you of messing up the car, no warranties.

More like they don't want to deal with the type of people who don't have a clue what they're talking about or doing because they don't want to waste their time when they have plenty of customers that drop their work off with a stack of cash.
I'm not going to waste my time answering 30 stupid questions for $500 when there's a shop full of $5k builds needing attention.

In all seriousness, there are numerous shops that are shady and will take advantage of people. There are a few here which I'm not going to name names.
OP - sounds like you're asking what the cost difference would be between you buying the parts vs having the shop buy the parts. It'll be whatever the shop's standard markup is on parts.
