Icon5 Fuel injector help 750 to 350 possible?

Ive been searching for hours and i cant find a proper answer. i am building a stock internal b18 at 8psi. for street use. came across a set of RC 750cc injectors and picked them up for cheap because i was told i can"detune" then or change the flow rate to a 310cc. however i cant find any info to confirm that or even how to. Does simply changing my flow rate in hondata/crome/etc do what i am trying to do. I am sure im missing something. any help is appreciated.

Mods: if this should be in the another forum please move. havnt posted for a while.

TIA.

You can't change the flow rate as you have stated... but you can reduce the duty cycle of a larger injector to properly fuel a lower HP engine with a proper tune. Just changing the size in your tuning software is a start... but you need to also change the battery offset/dead times and then fine tune the fuel maps.

would you set the dead times to correlate with the 310cc or 750cc specs. im trying to get the 750cc to mimic the 310cc. if its to much work i might just bite the bullet and pick up a set of 310cc.

thanks for the reply btw.

You set the dead times for the 750cc injectors. Why are you trying to make them "mimic" a set of 310cc injectors ?

i need 310cc for my set up. stock LS b18 with 7-8 psi daily. i came across someone selling 750cc for really cheap so i jumped on them. Based on my understanding and what i was told by a friend you can use larger injectors and just "detune" them to run at a different CC..im slowly realizing that might not be the case.

Two things: First, 310cc fuel injectors are likely too small for a B18B with 7-8 psi with a quality turbocharger. A set of 750cc fuel injectors will be LARGER than what you need, but this size rating is rated at 100% duty cycle. Let's say (for example) that once you have tuned your engine, your 750cc fuel injectors are only operating at 60% duty cycle at peak power. A 750cc fuel injector operating at 60% duty cycle performs very similar to a 450cc fuel injector at 100% duty cycle... but this doesn't mean that it is MIMICKING the smaller injector.

Bottom Line: Buy the 750cc fuel injectors and TUNE THE ENGINE. You cannot safely run your turbocharged engine on the ECU that you have unless it was TUNED with ALL of the parts that you have now. I get the impression that you are trying to alter the fuel injectors operation to work like a set of 310's... but the way that this is done is TUNING !!!

Most of what you said i already know. however you also answered my questions. which from my understand, it is possible to reduce to flow of the 750cc injector to a lesser CC...whether its 310..440...or whatever. and you are 1000% correct. i would never drive/run a car thats not tuned after a turbo build. thats just asking for trouble. how do i know? bcuz ive done it. lol. not a good idea.

if you know a street tuner in socal/LA i would love their contact info.

anyways thanks for the info.
