Default D15b7 Breather chamber thingy

Ok so Stinky is leaking oil at the back of the engine, looking online I found that it has a pvc breather on the back of the engine under the intake manifold. ( of course it cant be where its readily accessible) Im thinking take it off and clean around it and replace the grommets. Has anyone done this job? If so, on a beer scale where one beer is the easiest, 10 beers is the most difficult, how many beers does this job take to get it out and off and then replace
Thanks

make sure that you're not leaking oil from too much blow-by. I had a dodge colt and the carb would suddenly start dumping liquid fuel into the engine. it eventually destroyed my rings and then it started gushing oil from everywhere. the sides of the car were black with oil and grime.

definitly not blowby, no blue exhaust, and almost decent compression (140 psi all cylinders) I once had a boat with the chevy straight 6, the carb float would drop every so often depending on the size of wave I would hit, doing the same thing. Finally took the carb apart and found a hole in the METAL float on the top of the float. I guess on flat calm water the fuel in the bowl was not sloshing enough to make it go over the top of the float, but once the fuel starting sloshing, the float would fill up with gas causing it to drop. For those born after 1985, look up how a carb works, you will be thankful for this here new fangled fuel injection
I dont write my script, I just read it

I changed nearly all the rubber seals and hoses on my Civic's engine about a year ago and the breather chamber is one of the parts that I serviced. I removed my engine and had it on an engine stand so I don't know how difficult it will be to service it with the engine in the car but you can probably work on it from underneath the car if you remove your exhaust's downpipe. If not, you'll need to remove your intake manifold and work on it from the top. You need an o-ring 91324-PC6-000 , this seals the breather chamber to the engine. You also need the grommet that seals the joint, that connects to the pcv hose to the chamber 11855-PC6-000 . Lastly, you will probably need the pcv hose because they get brittle and hard like plastic over time 11855-P07-000 . Be careful not to break the pcv hose to breather chamber joint because they are out of production. If you do the work from under the car it should be a pretty simple job.

I have the grommet and the o ring. as far as the very brittle and broken tube, why cant I just use a piece of rubber hose since the pcv valve and the chamber joint are the same diameter? The intake is off, the breather is sitting on the work bench patiently waiting for me to take it to the diy car wash to spray it out and then I can throw this thing together. The problem is, I just started a new job monday and when I get home, IM WHOOPED. If all goes well Ill have it together saturday
Thanks

guess what I learnt today.. I bet you cant guess. Well Ill tell ya. The SAE Harbor Freight O-rings wont work if you need METRIC O-rings. I split 2 of them trying to install the chamber (Im a slow learner sometimes) Screw it, I ordered all the parts from the web site you sent me. The car has been sitting this long, it can sit a few more days. BTW doing this job from under the car would be easy if it were not for the top bolt. getting it off would be simple, installing it would be almost impossible due the location. SOOOO I currently has the intake off just staring at me, but its a good time to replace the old coolant lines under the intake so I have that going for me

What you have is a HONDA Civic, not a Harbor Freight Civic... so buy HONDA parts and you will be happy.

Yeah, I've had bad experiences with the Metric HF o-ring kit I purchased years ago. I've used very few of them because they almost never fit what I need them for and they seem to be a harder rubber than oem o-rings so they don't compress as well and tear more easily. As far as the PCV valve, you could probably use a generic hose for it but the oem hose snaps into a hole on the intake manifold so it keeps the valve upright and makes it very easy to change in the future. If you need the hose that connects the PCV valve to the intake manifold, Dorman sells a S shaped hose that fits nearly perfectly. I believe the one I used is Dorman Help 46002 and I think I just had to trim the end a little to get a perfect fit.
