Default Automatic Transmission Ecu location???

I have a 95 Accord with an auto and its shift hard and rough. I'm told its the trans ecu. I've looked in all my repair manuals and they do not list or show where the ecu is on the Cord. Does any know where it is located? Is it easy to get too and replace?

It is in the passenger footwell next to your car's main ECU. Just pull up the carpet and you will see a sheet of metal bolted to the floor. Unbolt it and turn it over...your ECUs.

Edit: Who told you it was the ECU? It could be a bad engine mount. Does the car buck/jerk when shifting? Also many times a tranny fluid change will smooth out the shifts.

I had a tranny service last spring. I checked the fluid and it was full. The Honda Dealer in my area told me that it needs an ecu. When the tranny shifts into 2nd then into 3rd the tach redlines then it shifts. It shift violently into gear. Yeah the car does buck/jerk when it shifts. It shifts like that while turning corners too.

I would still check your motor mounts to see if one is loose/broken. I'll sell you my Auto tranny ECU if you need one...

this doesnt sound good man, it may very well be the PCM. it almost sounds like it might be the 2nd and 3rd clutches (which will suck for you if it is) or it could be the shift solenoid.

have it flushed again and refilled w/ honda atf.

The Cord is going to a tranny shop tonight for acouple of days. The service advisor drove the Cord and he said it might need a service, or a new ECU or a remaned trans but not sure as what it really needs at this time. I guess I will find out when they diagnose it tomorrow. He said a reman will cost 2500 installed. So I priced a H22 with trans swap for the same money. The problem is I don't have 2500 in the bank to do either!!!! It sucks!! I but a trans in my Camaro last winter and I bought it at a junkyard for 250 bucks. a Junkyard tranny for the Cord is around 400 bucks.

I just heard from the tranny shop. I need a new Tranny. The tranny in the car slips when it shifts between 2nd and 3rd. They quoted me 1800 to 2500 for a reman. Should I replace it or go out and buy a new Honda?

The Cord has 113,000 miles on it and it was in an accident before I bought it back in 99. Whoever rebuilt it did a poor job. I just keep dropping more money into. Like I need to get it inspected in DEC and it needs struts, exhaust, frt/rr brakes now it needs a tranny. I still owe around 6300 buck on it. It seems all the dealers in my area will only give me 2 gs for it. They have no idea whats wrrong with it. I'm pulling my hair out!!!!
