ABS Wiring
Greetings all!
Here's my current situation:
What does this mean exactly? What am looking for?
I've done simple wiring in my home, but I'm a novice at automotive electrical. Any assistance will be appreciated!
Here's my current situation:
- 1993 Accord Coupe with ABS dash light illuminated
- ABS trouble code is 1-2 which means a problem with the pump motor circuit
- Found a troubleshooting flow sheet online (see attached)
- Checked the pump relay; works properly
- Connected No. 1 and No. 8 terminals using a jumper wire; pump motor does not run
- Checked for voltage between No. 8 terminal and body ground; confirmed battery voltage
- Disconnected 2 pin connector for pump motor
- Checked voltage between No. 1 (WHT/BLU) terminal and body ground; NO battery voltage
What does this mean exactly? What am looking for?

Maybe I can ask a different question:
Is it possible that my ABS pump still works and this could be a wiring issue?
Note: The brake fluid reservoir for the ABS pump is still full, and there are no signs of leaks.

It's absolutely possible this is a wiring issue, which is implied by the t'shooting steps.
The inference from the phrase you quote is: Test for a break in the WHT/BLU wire between the motor relay and pump motor. A continuity check between the two terminal ends of the WHT/BLU wire is in order, followed by a resistance check of this same conductor. If both tests are inconclusive, prepare a jumper wire and insert into the back of each pin in each connector and evaluate.
