I've cherished my 03 Civic Si for over 15 years! It was my dream car during/after high school, so I worked hard and found a used one and snagged it. I kept it nice, had it repaired when needed, replaced the clutch, oil changes, all of it.
Unfortunately, it wont pass PA inspection anymore.. So I can't really sell it.
I've been driving it daily on my 3 mile commute, all is well, but I'm looking to move into an inspected newer 4 door (probably fit)
I am just baffled on what to do with it now?
It runs perfectly, has a new clutch, exterior/interior in nice shape, etc. Its a super cool car, and 2-door 5-speed hatch's are somehow RARE now where I live. The build quality on these blow the fits away too.
Anybody ever been in this scenario?
What did you do with it?
Thanx!

Hey Ryan,
Thanks for the quick reply. I think its rust, and the check engine light is on, potentially other stuff wearing out. I'm not super handy to be honest, or I'd give more info.
Re: Saying hey, questioning what do to with my Si..
If it's not rusting apart maybe it's that check engine light that's failing the inspection.
More information would help.
Sounds like you are on the fence about keeping it even if it passes inspection?
If you aren't really mechanically inclined maybe it is time to part ways and sell it. Have to do the math and see if the hit you take on selling it without inspection is worth it. Could be more money in your pocket if you repair it enough to pass and then sell it.
Re: Saying hey, questioning what do to with my Si..
Any auto shop (Oreilly, Autozone, Advanced) should let you use an OBD scanner so you can pull the engine code for free.
That'd let you know what you're working with, and if it's worth repairing or not. If you can clear the CEL and pass inspection, then you're either free to enjoy the car again, or would have a much easier time selling it for a reasonable price.
That being said, the used car market is super jacked up at the moment. Last year (2021) it was impossible to buy a car, and this year it's impossible to sell. At least in Texas.
