Default Swap questions

I have my second project car, a 2001 Honda prelude, no engine or tranny, I知 familiar with working on cars and engine but swapping engines is a new thing to me, my prelude has no engine or transmission, I知 thinking either I can put a turbo h22 in for cheaper than a turbo k24, but I知 just trying to find the easiest option as I am still a beginner I知 thinking the h22 will be easier but I知 unsure of where all to get my parts and even what parts I will need. Would you recommend building the engine? Any websites with decent prices for engines and transmission痴? And websites that will walk you through what parts you may need? I have been on YouTube a lot but finding the perfect video can be hard. Any and all advice welcome.

Default Re: Swap questions

H22 will be the more direct swap. For any kind of reliability yes you would want to completely build an H22 for boost. At that point it would probably just be cheaper to go K series, which doesn't require an engine build to make decent power. It all depends on what your goals are with the car.

Since you're a beginner I would advise scrapping the idea of going turbo for now and starting smaller. Engine builds are very complicated and require a lot of knowledge and special tools. K swaps are also fairly complex and require a lot of additional parts, potential fabrication and lots of wiring. Swap in an H or even a SOHC F series for now to get it going since it will be fairly simple, and then you can pick up a spare block on the side to build or start gathering K swap parts.
