Was cracking the top alternator bolt loose and the end of the bolt broke off inside, what part of water pump assembly do I need and can I just remove that cover and replace it or do I need an entire assembly?

 

That is not part of the block but a water housing that bolts to the front of the block. You could remove it to make fixing that easier or replace it.

Don't forget the couple of gaskets that seal it to the block and water pump.

 

Yea I figured that out, I guess while I’m replacing that water passage/manifold, I’ll replace serpentine belt, idler pulleys, water pump, and tensioner while I have all that taken apart, really didn’t want to tear it all down again, but it’s all good. Any recommendations on alternators that work with civic si 9th gen, seems like the OEM DENSO is somewhere around $7-800, I could have a HO alt built for $400, trying to figure out everything I need to do while I’m in there. THX man!!!
