Do I really need to modify my wiring harness?
I know questions similar to this has been asked but I haven’t got a straight forward answer on it. I have a h22 euro r motor w/ lsd trans I got from hmo a while back. And im trying to put it in a 93 eg. The 93 eg was a bare minimum chassis. No dash, no wires, any type of lights, not even brake lines on the car. It was completely bare. All I have done is rebuild suspension of the car and mount the h22 w/ trans in. But do I really have to modify the wiring harness for this? Everyone that’s asked if keeping the harness as is was an option the answer was “no because the eg is obd1 and engine is obd2” but is my car really obd1 if there’s nothing on the car at all? Might be a dumb question but idk how wiring works on cars at all and am trying to learn. And if I did keep the harness, what ecu could I use to tune it with since I wouldn’t be able to use a p28?
Just find someone who builds custom engine harness i seen a few guys on the K series forums post up ads for custom engine and chassis harness! since its a bare chassis this is prolly your best bet, the person who makes your harness should let you know what ECU to get. The harness should mostly be plug and play depending on who makes it for you, Here's some example's, Send them a email and ask what you need they will help you.
