1991 EF Honda, Plans: Engine swap
I just got my hands on a 1991 Honda Civic DX and had some questions about engine swaps and turbos. (Note I got this car for free from my Dads friend)
My father and I are going to make this our project car and work on it together. And I am wondering if I want to reliably daily this car as it will be my commuter and also have some power (around 400 WHP or lower) is a k series motor and a turbo the way to go? Aswell as which motor to get and an idea of the amount of money I will have to dump into it.

Just know that "project car" and "reliable daily" are diametrically opposed, especially when you get into swaps and turbo charging. I don't know your budget, workspace and other factors, and certainly don't want do detract from your goals but its important to be realistic.
Personally, I'd say start conservatively and freshen up the engine that came in it, get the car cleaned up and drive a slow car fast. Get your suspension bits ironed out and make it handle and stop well. If that isn't enough, do a modest turbo setup or start looking at engine swaps once you've gotten to know the car more.
